Situation and Outcome
I was working in the office at my desk when next to me a colleague collapsed fell onto the floor, knowing how to respond in such a situation presents a crucial element for the quick recovery of the person. I quickly mobilised a team of first aiders. During my assessment the patients condition changed and I immediately summoned help, while commencing Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation(CPR). I dealt with the CPR methodically applying techniques and skill acquisition learned in training, I had delegated tasks and tried to control the situation awaiting the arrival of the Ambulance Emergency Service.
How I Contributed To the Team Situation
I initially led the team, took control of the CPR anticipating what was expected of me, to achieve the team goal of patient recovery, reliant on my positive attitude and commitment required me to produce an effective performance. I did this by mapping carefully my responsibilities and role, ensuring that I was clear about who does a certain job to achieve a positive outcome, for example I continued to provide chest thrusts at a rate of 120 per minute, 5 cycles of which would enable the patients heart to pump circulation sufficient to stimulate an outcome and a pulse…
